Lottery gives £800k boost to libraries
BOOKLOVERS in Islington have a bright future after the borough’s Library Service secured nearly £800,000 in lottery funding.
The Big Lottery grants officers met representatives from the council last week to discuss a refurbishment of Islington’s West and North libraries.
The council outlined a programme of learning, health, leisure and cultural activities for adults and young people.
Work on the refurbishments is expected to start during 2008/09.
