GMTV presenter Kate Garraway was relaxing at her Islington home this week after being ejected from television’s Strictly Come Dancing contest.
She was the seventh celebrity contestant to be voted off the BBC1 programme. Ms Garraway and dance partner Anton Du Beke had survived earlier votes, despite consistent low scores and criticism from judges. “We’ve had our fun, but now we can see some cracking dancing,” she said on GMTV this week.
Ms Garraway nearly quit the show in the first week after suffering inflamed foot tendons and then went on to injure her back while attempting a dance move with her partner. “We were trying to be dramatic, but we were so dramatic we ended up in casualty,” she said.
Meanwhile, former EastEnders star Marc Bannerman, who as a youth boxed at Islington Boys Club, is one of the celebrities surviving in the bush for ITV1’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.
