Market’s festive cracker
A CHRISTMAS tree lights switch-on launches a festive food market in Whitecross Street this weekend.
Mayor of Islington Councillor Barbara Smith will switch on the lights at 4.30pm today (Friday).
More than 80 producers will set up stalls at the market, off Old Street. Other attractions include Santa’s grotto, carol singers and mulled wine.
TV chef Jamie Oliver’s students will be serving home-made soup. The market runs from 11am to 9pm today and 10am to 5pm tomorrow.
