Ghana girls’ uncertainty
THE Islington teenagers convicted of cocaine smuggling in Ghana are to endure more weeks of uncertainty.
At a hearing in Accra on Wednesday a judge decided not to sentence Yetunde Diya and Yasemin Vatensever, both sixteen, until after Christmas, pending the results of an investigation by social services.
The pair are facing up to three years in prison after being convicted in September of trying to smuggle £300,000 worth of cocaine into Britain.
