‘Unsung hero’ healthcare workers receive special awards
OUTSTANDING health workers have been recognised at a special annual ceremony organised by Islington Primary Care Trust. Patients, members of the public and NHS staff were asked to nominate local health workers who had gone above and beyond the call of duty and really impressed them over the past year.
Islington PCT chairwoman Paula Kahn said: “The PCT wanted to uncover the unsung heroes of Islington’s health service and we certainly achieved that this year. “We are grateful to the people of Islington for telling us about the healthcare workers who have really made a difference and gone the extra mile to help and provide the best standard of care over the last 12 months. “We were inundated with nominations and it was tough to decide between them. We’re thrilled that there are so many health stars working locally. “The teams and individuals that won the awards are really setting the standard.”
