Pupils warm to idea of solar-powered classes
A HOLLOWAY school is leading the way to a greener future by fitting solar panels on its roof. The green electricity is powerful enough to run a new block at Grafton Primary School in Eburne Road. It is the first project of its kind to be paid for by Islington Council’s £3 million Climate Change Fund.
Lib Dem executive member for environment Councillor Lucy Watt said: “The pupils have shown their commitment to tackling global warming and they’ve told me how important they feel this issue has become for future generations. With their new solar panels, the children are now playing a hands-on role in striving for a greener borough.”
