Mother cleared of knife attack
A MOTHER of twins wept when a jury cleared her of participation in a near-fatal knife attack on a teenage student.
Natalie Avis, 21, from Elthorne estate, in Archway, agreed she was at the scene of the assault on Ivaylo Radev, 18, in August 2005 and knew one of the assailants. But she denied playing any violent role.
Old Bailey jurors cleared her of attempted murder or wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Derek Joseph, 21, of Buxton Road, Upper Holloway, also denied the same charges and was acquitted. Mr Radev had transfusions of 60 pints of blood after the attack on the Elthorne estate.
