Apology for lofty outburst
STRICTLY Come Dancing star Kate Garraway’s husband has apologised for the couple’s “emotional” outburst at a planning meeting last year.
The couple, who finally won retrospective planning permission for a loft extension, were ordered to make £15,000 worth of changes to their home, off New North Road, to satisfy the South Area planning committee on Monday.
Derek Draper, a former aide to Peter Mandelson, but who is now a psychotherapist, told the meeting at Finsbury Town Hall: “I want to start by apologising for the last meeting. Me and my wife got very heated.”
He was referring to a heated exchange in May last year in which his breakfast television presenter wife had accused neighbours in Angel’s Arlington Square of “bullying” and “harassment”.
