Al Murray with Bavarian Beerhouse waitresses.
Pub Landlord’s night with the bevy
COMEDIAN Al Murray cosied up to barmaids from Finsbury’s Bavarian Beerhouse on his television show on Friday.
Mr Murray, whose alter ego is The Pub Landlord, a sexist, xenophobic publican, named the City Road bar as his “Pub of the Week” for the last show in his ITV series.
The comedian welcomed waitresses dressed in traditional Bavarian outfits alongside guests TV presenter Denise Van Outen and ex-England manager Terry Venables.
When told the pub served sausages and schnitzel and played oompah music, the comedian quipped: “It sounds brilliant – a great place to get blitzed.”
He told the barmaids: “It sounds pretty good doesn’t it, suckling pig and all that. And girls in busty tops.
“So if you lot had won the war, all pubs would be like this. Damn you, Churchill.”
