Three go to hospital after brawl in street
THREE men were taken to hospital after a street fight in Angel. The men, aged 17, 38 and 43, were injured when up to 20 people brawled in Liverpool Road last Thursday.
Earlier, a man had been thrown out of Bar Academy, in the N1 Centre.
Louise Kovacs, a spokeswoman for Academy Music Group, said: “Bar Academy was hosting the Wildplum Live music event featuring up-and-coming, unsigned live bands, with around 100 people in attendance.
“At about 10pm, security staff ejected one individual following a minor incident inside the venue.
“At no point did any further problems occur inside Bar Academy or in the N1 Centre.”
Police closed Liverpool Road for several hours on Friday morning to protect any forensic evidence.
Officers have since arrested three men, all in their 20s, on suspicion of assault and public order offences. All have been released on bail. Detectives have urged witnesses to call 020 7421 0350 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
