garden glows as sale raises £350 for community project
SHRUBS and vegetable seedlings were among the items up for grabs at the annual spring plant sale at Culpeper Gardens on Sunday. Plants ranged in price from 40p to £6. Helped by the sunny weather, the sale raised £350, which will go towards the upkeep of the gardens.
Kate Bowen, who helped organise the event, said: “The plant sale was very successful. Lots of our members and volunteers and friends came to help on the day.”
Culpeper Gardens is a community project that has been running for 25 years.
The next plant sale at the garden will take place on June 8.
