Park will be opened up
• IT seems James Dunnett has recruited a colleague, Tim Ronalds, to join him in opposing a new building for the children of Ashmount School (Theatre architect pleads for ‘all-glass’ school to be saved, May 16).
They defend the current building on how it looks, not how it works as a school. Whether the building looks attractive or not is a matter of taste. Tastes differ. But they also oppose the project as it will “restrict access” to Crouch Hill Park. This is false.
The Crouch Hill project is several things apart from moving a school. At the core of it is bringing back into public use a derelict park. We are involving residents and future users of the park in the detail of how this is to be done. An advisory board is being established – it has met once – and anyone with email who wants to know more can join a discussion list.
