Inflation hits titles
•
AT the southern end of Whitecross Street in Finsbury, Islington Council has displayed an advance notice about a road closure.
The notice, exhibited on June 30, is dated July 30 over the signature of the Assistant Director of the Public Realm.
It is sited 50 metres from the end of new pavement badly joined to existing pavement, creating a hazard to pedestrians, and near a pile of rubble left by contractors and a dangerously loose paving slab.
The laughable inflation in titles which the council gives itself is only exceeded by the incompetence of its actual management.
Whoever thought the Public Realm is an appropriate administrative division of the council?
