Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 15 August 2008

Holy Bible lessons?

• YOUR correspondent (Letters, August 1) says: “If every person was allowed to live his or her life according only to those factors to which he or she did not take objection, society would be so fragmented as to make government an impossibility.”
This reactionary view is chilling and betrays some sort of addiction to being governed, so much so that it brings to mind all religious persecution down the ages.
The religious registrar has been taught by the Holy Bible that homosexuality – a perfectly natural way of life for a minority of humans and most other species of mammal – is an abomination.
Islington Council must respect religious belief, no matter how bizarre. So says the law.
