Wanted: your views on an improved Archway... without the bulldozers
A TWO-day consultation on the future of Archway is being staged next weekend. The Better Archway Forum (BAF) is asking people for their ideas on how the area should be improved. Previous consultations have been over proposals for large-scale demolition and rebuilding.
BAF chairwoman Kate Calvert said the new consultation would look at small-scale improvements which would retain independent shops.
Experts involved include environmental charity London 21, regeneration specialist Renaisi and public space consultant Space Syntax.
She added: “There will be plans, images and ideas, all drawing on suggestions by local people.” The results will be presented to Islington councillors and officials later in the month.
BAF will be lobbying for the ideas to be adopted by the council in the form of an area action plan.
The consultation is on Friday, October 10, and Saturday, October 11, at Archway Methodist Church in the middle of the gyratory system.
