Celebrities set for festive switch-on
THE stars will come out in Islington in the run-up to Christmas.
Next Friday, November 28, Arsenal football legend Bob Wilson will switch on the Christmas lights at Nags Head (5-6.30pm).
On Saturday November 29, actor Ray Winstone’s daughter Jamie will be switching on the lights at Camden Passage at 4.30pm.
Meanwhile, writer and comedian Charlie Higson will be doing the honours at Archway on Friday, December 5 (4-5pm) and novelist Nick Hornby will switch on the lights at Highbury Barn on Saturday December 6, (6-8pm).
Mayor of Islington Councillor Stefan Kasprzyk, and Islington Council’s executive member for business, Cllr Lucy Watt, will switch on other lights across the borough.

• Whitecross Street: Christmas Festival on December 4-5 (noon-7pm; switch-on at 5pm on December 4). Special guest – Mayor Kasprzyk. • Archway: Friday December 5 (4-5pm). Special guest – Charlie Higson.
• Highbury Barn: Saturday December 6 (6-8pm). Special guest – Nick Hornby.
Refreshments will be served at all of the events.
