Curtains up! Young actors’ 24 hour challenge
THIRTY young people will have just 24 hours to create, write, devise and rehearse a brand new play for the Islington Youth Theatre (IYT). They will then perform their new play in front of local community groups and an audience at the Pleasance Theatre at 6pm on Monday December 22.
Money raised from the event will go toward new projects and tickets for over 500 students across Islington to come to future IYT events.
IYT has been running for six years, during which time hundreds of young people aged 12 to 18 have taken part in plays and projects.
For director Ned Glasier, the 24 Hour Challenge is a perfect way to raise money for the group. He said: “It’s brilliant to see young people in Islington get excited about raising money for the activities that they love taking part in. The challenge will help them develop their confidence, performance and interpersonal skills.”
