Camden Passage inquiry
THE last chance to save the former antique emporium Mall at Camden Passage will be launched at a public inquiry on Wednesday December 10.
Objectors are planning to join planners from Islington council to fight proposals to strip the interior of the Grade II-listed former tram shed. Up to 40 antique traders have already been evicted by owners London and Associated Properties (LAP).
The council have refused permission for the changes to the “small shop” layout and will be defending its decision.
Mike Weedon, a member of the Camden Passage Association, said: “We’d like as many people to turn up as possible. It would be nice if the Inspector can be made aware of the enormous opposition to the plans of LAP.”
The inquiry begins at 10 am at The Crescent Suite, 70 Ronalds Road, Highbury.
