Christmas cubs: Scouts’ date at No 10
A GROUP of cubs from Islington beat hundreds of other Scout groups to win the privilege of decorating the Prime Minister’s Christmas tree. The 10 children from the 26th Islington Cub Scout Pack helped the Prime Minister’s wife Sarah Brown hang sparkly gold and red baubles on the tree outside 10 Downing Street last Wednesday.
The cubs were then invited inside the famous house to warm up with a cup of tea.
Speaking before the visit, cub scout Hiki Jumbondi said: “I can’t believe I am going to turn on the lights at Number 10 with the Prime Minister’s wife Sarah Brown. “All my school friends will be so jealous I got to go to see where the Prime Minister lives. “They have invited us in for tea afterwards. That’s going to be my best adventure this year.”
