Quality! Hanover’s accolade
AN Islington school received praise and a glowing assessment following its latest Ofsted inspection, writes Emmanuella Francis. Hanover Primary in Noel Road is noted to have significantly improved in areas such as leadership and management, the quality of provision and overall effectiveness where the rating for each was good.
Headteacher Mandy Reese, who was described as an “outstanding aspect”, said: “We are very pleased that the inspection team have recognised the special qualities that Hanover has. “Improvements brought about since the last inspection have been the result of the hard work, commitment and energy of all involved, staff, governors, children and parents and we are delighted that our school is moving in the right direction.”
The school was particularly praised for making pupils from different backgrounds feel valued.
Islington Council’s executive member for children and young people, Paula Belford, praised the pupils, parents and teachers and said: “Hanover is another example of an Islington school that not only provides a good education for the children, but also engages with the local community.”
Ofsted also noted the “outstanding parental involvement” as an important factor in the improvement.
