Killers of ‘blameless man’ jailed
THREE members of a “makeshift posse” involved in the violent death of an innocent man have been jailed after being secretly filmed as they confessed.
The Old Bailey heard how factory worker Balkari Davis, 24, was attacked and stabbed near his north London home. He was targeted by a gang because they could not find a friend of his they were having a feud with.
Sean Lynch, 19, of Purcell Street, Islington, stabbed Mr Davis in an Edmonton alley while Michael Oladapo and Kenneth Opoku battered him to the ground in March last year.
Lynch and co-accused Oladapo, 22, of Jordan House, Islington, and Opoku, 21, of Haggerston, were in a prison van when they were filmed and recorded. Found guilty of murder, Lynch was given a life sentence and must serve a minimum 17 years. Oladapo was sentenced to 14 years for manslaughter and Opoku to 11 years for manslaughter. |
