Get on with it, Boris
• IT concerns me greatly that Transport for London (TfL) is continuing to delay undertaking safety improvements to the junction of Penton Rise and Pentonville Road, King’s Cross. Over a year ago Boris Johnson, who chairs TfL, pledged to “look into” the junction if elected. In the summer of last year TfL stated work would eventually start in January this year, but of course nothing actually did. After these delays I was told preliminary work due to start in January was being re-scheduled for March 2.
Well, March came and went and no work started. I was then told work would eventually start in April. TfL is now claiming safety improvements will commence in May and, hopefully, be finished in August.
At this junction there was a near-fatal accident and two accidents involving cyclists recently. It is time Mr Johnson ensured that safety improvements are completed before any further accidents take place.
