Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 3 July 2009

Shutdown on joke line

• I UNDERSTAND the North London Line/ Overground is to shut completely for 18 weeks from early January. This line is fast becoming a joke, if it isn’t already. We have had a two-and-a-half year closure, a 16-week partial shutdown as well as weekend closures for much of the past 10 years. Each time we are told it will result in a better service and each time we’re disappointed.
The reliability of the line will not be restored until massive freight trains are stopped from going over 150-year-old viaducts.
