Fields win for Angel
ANGEL Islington under-9s tasted cup glory when they beat nine other teams to win the annual RCC tournament at London Fields. Keeper Klaudio Malasi and defenders Harry Doyle, Wade Spencer and Jack Fowler were outstanding as Angel finished top of their group. The midfield muscle of Frankie Scott, Joseph Nicastro and captain Elliot Greene saw Angel into the final where they came back from behind against Chettle Court.
Buster Goldsmith pulled Angel back into the game and Albert Hicks scored a golden goal to make it 2-1 in extra time.
The team are coached by Danny Cruise, Peter Nicastro and Gary Doyle. “The boys have been together since they were six and know each other’s game so well.” said Nicastro. They finished the season runners-up in the Waltham Forest Sunday League and finishing strongly in the Camden and Islington Midweek League.
