Robbery victim suffers heart attack
THIS is the image of a man police wish to interview after a pensioner suffered a heart attack following a robbery.
Islington police have issued CCTV stills in a bid to find the man, who they hope will be able to help them with their investigation.
The 80-year-old victim, who is the sole carer of her disabled partner, had withdrawn just under £1,000 from HSBC bank in Seven Sisters Road, Holloway, when she was confronted by a man.
He stopped her as she walked into Hanmer Walk on the Andover estate and, after a brief struggle, ran off with her money in the direction of Hornsey Road, Holloway.
The pensioner attempted to give chase but collapsed.
Neighbours who heard her screams rushed to help. Complaining of chest pains, she was admitted to hospital, where it was confirmed she had suffered a heart attack.
The woman is still recovering in hospital, while her partner is being looked after by her family.
The suspect is described as aged 18-28, 5ft 11in tall with short black hair.
He was wearing a dark coloured jacket.
Anyone with information or who knows the identity of the man seen on CCTV should call Acting Detective Sergeant Tony Smith or Acting Detective Sergeant Ricardo Vieira on 0207 421 0246 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. |
