Search for cabinet woman
TOWN Hall chiefs are still searching for the mystery office worker who discovered that Islington Council had accidentally sold a filing cabinet containing confidential documents about foster children.
Last week, chief executive John Foster said the council was trying to trace the person who found the files, and is believed to have sold or handed them over to a national newspaper.
Council leader Cllr Terry Stacy said the council wanted to speak to the person involved to ensure there was no wrongdoing on her part.
So far, all the Town Hall knows is that the woman works in an office in Enfield.
A council spokeswoman said: “We haven’t got the person’s contact details yet. An internal investigation is ongoing.”
The files are now back in the hands of the council. |
