Jail for knifeman who killed in haircut row
AN angry man who murdered a father-of-two in a row over a haircut was jailed for 15 years by a Crown Court judge on Tuesday.
Eddie Reid, 35, stabbed Christopher Winship to death outside Crumbles Castle adventure playground in Bingfield Park, Holloway, on November 28 last year.
Reid told Southwark Crown Court he carried out the attack with a 12-inch kitchen knife because his six-year-old son’s hair had been “cut to chunks”.
Witnesses told the court how Reid left his house “in a rage” after seeing his son’s hair.
The 36-year-old victim died in Havelock Street in front of his fiancée Emma Carter and his six-year-old son.
Judge James Wadsworth described Mr Winship, who worked as a personal trainer, as “a good father and a good family man”.
Reid denied murder, but was found guilty by the jury. |
