Chained store? Trolleys ‘cause danger’ for wheelchairs

STOLEN shopping trolleys from a major Holloway supermarket are blocking the pavement, putting the lives of wheelchair users at risk, it was claimed this week.
Residents rang Morrisons store at the Nag’s Head on Sunday after discovering six
trolleys linked together obstructing the pavement at busy Camden Road.
Local resident and wheelchair user Maureen Wingrove, who has spina bifida, said the trolleys made it difficult to use the pavement. “Several times when I can’t get by I’ve had to go along the kerb of the main road,” she said. “Motorists beeped me and I’ve taken my life in my hands by doing it. But I just couldn’t get through.”
Another resident, Pat Manning, said she’d rung Morrisons and appealed to them to collect the trolleys. “I was told that they only collect trolleys once a week.”
