Free my belongings
• FOR the last 10 years I have been unable to access part of my own property because Homes for Islington (HfI) has erected a giant metal door separating my property in half.
I have the pleasure of paying £15,000 for this inconvenience. My personal belongings are now imprisoned behind this door in the understairs storage and I cannot access them unless I call on the next-door neighbour. Yet I get threatened with court action if I don’t pay for it.
For approximately the last 10 years I have been asking for a fob key so I can access all my imprisoned things but to no avail.
Recently, at the Bemerton annual meeting we were informed that the council may even be demolishing the entire estate.
When all the debris has been cleared, the estate is brand new and the giant metal security doors have been demolished I will still be paying off monthly instalments for those metal doors that don’t even exist anymore.
I committed to paying the £15,000 in exchange for a service and HfI committed to providing a service. If it can’t even get me a fob key in 10 years why should I pay for a service it is not providing?
