Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 27 November 2009

Where is criticism of cosy, two-party establishment?

• I NOTED with some amusement your article favourably reporting the elements of the Leader of the Opposition’s response to the Queen’s Speech that concerned MP Emily Thornberry (PM sings praises of ex-choir girl who took on Liberal Democrats, November 20).
I noted with further amusement that none of your journalists felt able to put their name to such a blatantly egregious puff piece, or that while your paper feels free to criticise Liberal Democrat leaflets you felt unable to mention the Labour leaflet put out in Finsbury which threatened that pensioners would not receive their council tax rebate unless they told Labour who they were going to vote for.
Perhaps you may wish to change your strapline to “Open to all, coerced by none (except the cosy, two-party establishment)”.

Besant Court, N1
