Tell us Swiss Cottage leisure centre prices
It is high time for Camden Council to come clean on the full
range of charges for the new Swiss Cottage leisure centre.
The concession rates are still not decided and the pricing structure
is being gradually introduced.
I have been asking them to confirm the full pricing policy for
a couple of months now.
Greenwich Leisure Ltd is actively pushing the most expensive
‘premier packages’ in Swiss Cottage library. At £43.95
per month, this is beyond the reach of many local people.
But the council is not yet making available the standard and
more affordable swim only and gym/swim offerings, and we still
do not what they will cost.
Meanwhile, swimmers who have waited four years for the reopening
of the centre, will be disappointed they have to pay 50 per
cent more for a pool that is 25 per cent smaller than the old
one!
With the threat of closure hanging over Kentish Town baths,
many people will be relying on Swiss Cottage.
Labour Camden’s handling of the whole affair has not been
impressive.
