'It gave me a buzz' says serial killer
Knifeman had Blair on his list
A FOUR-TIMES killer obsessed with film monster Freddie Krueger
had Tony Blair and Michael Jackson on his target list, a jury
heard this week.
Daniel Gonzalez told detectives he decided to slaughter
a devoted Highgate couple just for fun.
It was to be the highlight of his three day orgy of violence
which left four innocent strangers dead and others fighting
for their lives, the Old Bailey was told.
Gonzalez, 25, attacked at random and claimed he was guided by
voices in my head.
He said, Voices tell me its good to be bad. I get a buzz
from killing. Im a superhero getting rid of people leading
boring lives.
He said: Eventually Im going to kill the Prime Minister
and Michael Jackson. Bad people have all the fun.
Gonzalez, a drug taker and heavy drinker, from Woking, Surrey,
has admitted four counts of manslaughter but denies four counts
of murder. He is claiming diminished responsibility.
He slit the throat of a woman, 73, in an ambush in West Sussex,
on September 15 2004, and two days later repeatedly stabbed
former Camden publican Kevin Molloy, 46, in Tottenham High Road
at 5am.
At Holborn Police Station, where he physically and verbally
abused police officers following his arrest on a Tube train
at Tottenham Court Road, he spoke of his obsession with the
Nightmare on Elm Street horror film.
He said: I just want to get locked up. In fact I should
go to the electric chair.
After he left Mr Molloy dead on the pavement he smashed his
way into a house in Frobisher Road, Hornsey, and attacked a
husband with a knife. The victims sick wife climbed out
of bed to go to his aid and save him as Gonzalez fled.
An hour later he was at the front door of retired paediatrician
Dr Derek Robinson, 76, and his wife Jean, 68, a former music
teacher. They were both stabbed to death in their hallway of
their house in Makepeace Avenue, Highgate.
Gonzalez then stripped naked and was about to have a shower
when he was disturbed by the couples decorator.
He said: I had no idea who they were. It was just the
first place I went to. I wanted to kill someone. It was the
luck of the draw that I went to their house.
The serial killer added that he gave the Robinsons no
chance.
He said: I just wanted to kill the poor guy quickly and
stick it in his throat. The woman she didnt want
to die and neither did he. They were just screaming. Screaming
for God.
When he left the scene, escaping over the back garden, he said:
I felt clean, orgasmic. I had washed all the crap out
of my life. I felt better. This is something I live for. Its
a really good buzz.
Gonzalez was considered so dangerous while being held in top
security Belmarsh Prison, South London, that five officers donned
riot gear before opening his cell door the jury heard. The trial
continues. |
