Big Match Special

Our weekly spotlight on one of the league’s big games

Under-9 South
Primrose Hill Utd 5
Peel 0

PRIMROSE Hill United clinched the Big Match trophy in style on Friday with their biggest win of the season so far to move above Peel in the league.
Primrose were continually thwarted by Peel goalkeeper Ollie Smith as the talented shot stopper single handedly kept United at bay in the first half.
Smith twice denied Adam Mayer before tipping a vicious long range effort from Edoardo Cinatti around the post.
It was always going to take something special to beat Smith, and it came just minutes after the restart.
Cinatti played a dangerous pass across Peel’s penalty area and Alex Rabinowitz hit a thunderous drive that flew into the top corner.
Minutes later, man-of-the-match Luke Wolstenholme struck the goal of the game, delicately curling the ball home from 15 yards out. Wolstenholme turned provider for the third when his low cross was slotted home by Rabinowitz.
United found a fourth when Raff Law scored from an acute angle.
Wolstenholme rounded off the victory when he grabbed his second with a powerful drive from the edge of the area.
