Camden New Journal - CHALLENGE CUP SEMI-FINALS

STEELES will go head-to-head with Globetown in the final of this prestigious competition next month after close-fought victories on Sunday.
Camden Sunday League pacesetters Steeles brought Reddot A’s 32-match unbeaten run to an end in an epic tie that was settled in the final half hour.
Deadlock was broken in the second half shortly after James Ricketts was given his marching orders for his second bookable offence.
They were the first yellow cards of the Reddot centre forward’s career and his side missed his domination at the back within minutes.
Jack McNicholl put Steeles ahead five minutes later and Sunday Ogundaisi added a second.
Skipper Mickey Dowsett pulled one back from the spot with five minutes remaining, but keeper Ian Whitmore denied Martin Ray and Jason Medford to ensure Steeles made it through. A single strike by Mark Kingham saw Division One side Globetown see off a spirited cup run from Division Three’s Broad Lane.
Darren Abbott had a shot palmed on to the bar by Broad Lane’s outstanding keeper Michael Falloon.
Leading scorer Ashley Joseph missed two good chances to pull his side back into it but Kingham’s header was enough. www.sundayfooty.org
