The History Boys
ALAN Bennett’s comedy The History Boys has made a smooth transition from stage to screen, helped by the fact director Nicholas Hytner persuaded the cast to take up the roles they had filled in the National Theatre production.
Focusing on a grammar school class swotting for Oxford entrance exams, the film has lots of charm, a fair amount of social comment and a dollop of tragedy thrown in.
Open Season
AN animated treat featuring a number of hilarious characters. Boog is a bear who has settled into a cosy urban life until he meets Elliot, a deer who is fed up with all these pesky humans and wants to return to nature. |
