Wandering Fiddlers’ tales
PREVIEW: Elizabeth Wallfisch
wigmore hall
ELIZABETH Wallfisch is one of the world’s leading violinists, much in demand by concert halls and celebrated for her virtuosity.
But this week she takes part in The Wandering Fiddlers, a special event which sees violinists performing early music and telling stories.
It is an excellent concept and combines works by JC Bach, Mein Freund ist mein, from his Wedding Cantata, and Summer from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, alongside traditional Irish fiddle music,
Gerry O’Connor plays the fiddle and David Miller is on the lute. – See listings |
