The Godfather of jazz returns to UCS stage
PREVIEW: STAN TRACEY UCS, Jazz in the Lund
JAZZ in the Lund hosts one of the pioneers of British jazz on Thursday April 10. Stan Tracey, often referred to as the Godfather of jazz, will be returning to the UCS stage having performed regularly at this north London jazz venue during its 25 years as a jazz club before unfortunately stopping 10 years ago.
Tracey’s career has spanned over six decades and in this time he has produced more than 40 albums and created major works such as Under Milk Wood – inspired by Dylan Thomas’s work of the same name – and which is widely recognised as a masterpiece.
Tracey’s Jazz in the Lund gig will give jazz fans the rare opportunity to see this world famous artist in one of the most intimate jazz venues around.
Stan will be performing with his quartet, which includes leading UK and internationally acclaimed trumpeter Guy Barker, bassist Andy Cleyndert and drummer Clark Tracey.
