THE Odeon, Swiss Cottage, has exclusive screenings of this independent Jewish documentary based on the autobiography of Harry Urban, which tells the story of his numerous wartime escapes from both the Nazis and the Russian gulag.
Harry, who died in 2004, aged 87, comes over as a feisty oldster showing all the bravado, indomitable spirit and arrogance that carried him through dramatic escapades like a modern-day Scarlet Pimpernel.
Directed with obvious affection by his son Stuart, the result has been acclaimed in festivals from Raindance to Bologna. But it remains one strictly for the cognoscenti.
