• The Warlords (15): Starring Crouching Tiger Jet-Li, the Warlords is a kick-butt Chinese action-adventure. Its high production values are undermined by the simple fact that we have seen this all before. There are few surprises in store – despite the gratuitous violence, with some
all-too-real looking slicing and dicing of bodies on the battlefield.
• Pride and Glory (15): Ed Norton is always watchable, and in this run-of-the-mill New York city cop thriller he does what is needed. He plays a detective investigating the deaths of fellow officers, who uncovers something rotten. The strong cast are let down a little by clichéd lines.
• Easy Virtue (PG): Based on a Noel Coward play with the same name, we meet glamourpuss American Larita (Jessica Biel) on a gallivant in the south of France. She marries, on the spur of the moment, to English toff John Whitaker (Ben Barnes). But things go awry when they come to dear old Blighty to meet the folks – who decide the Yank is rather too vulgar for their well-bred young son.
