A FORMER pupil of Highgate School who traded in his job as a desk-bound lawyer at a successful central London firm to tread the boards as an actor directs his first stage show – A Christmas Carol – in the King’s Head Theatre. Joe Fredericks, who appeared on stage for first time in a school
production of Oh! What a Lovely War in 1986, played the lead in the West End hit Blood Brothers. His directoral debut at the King’s Head is on until January 4.
A TRIBUTE night exploring the life and scenes of Marlene Dietrich – the movie star, cabaret artiste, war hero, atheist – opens at the Conway Hall on February 20.
The evening includes a big screen showing of a complete performance of her one-woman show recorded in Sweden.
THERE are just a few days left of the Tower Theatre company’s London premiere production of Stephen Sondheim’s Putting it Together. The show, including music and lyrics from the American composer, has toured Manhattan and Los Angeles in America and is on at Theatro Technis until Saturday.
