RIGHT! It’s cold, it’s wet, and it’s dark. But have no fear because POTI can recommend a way to get yourself some sunshine!
Tomorrow (Friday) sees the start of the sixth annual London Short Film Festival at the Curzon cinema group’s venues. They are the people behind the Renoir in Brunswick Square, and the Soho Curzon in Shaftesbury Avenue.
On Saturday at noon is the New Shorts: Funny Shit section, which features everything from animation to full-blown musicals. On Sunday, also at noon, are a series of shorts on love and its related nonsense.
Monday sees a preview of stuff from the forthcoming Bird’s Eye View festival, which celebrates female film-makers. Also on Monday, Current TV, the channel backed by Al Gore that seeks to encourage independent documentary making, is hosting a workshop. On Wednesday there is a masterclass on making super special effects.
All the events at the Soho cinema are free!
