THE Camden Crawl is only a month away and we’re still waiting for the big names to be announced.
If you can’t wait any longer, I can exclusively reveal one now – Manchester post-punk miseries The Fall have been confirmed to play. At over 50 years old, the band’s only full-time member Mark E Smith still commands a cult following. We’ve got six pairs of Crawl tickets to give away – competition coming soon.
• Levi’s Ones to Watch shows have given us White Lies and Rogues in some fantastic shows. Underground Railroad play the Barfly tonight (Thursday). See review next week.
• Lethal Bizzle’s right-hand man Uncle Fumin’s a funny old character. He comes to life when he’s in the spotlight, his lyrics are clear and he’s bouncing with energy. I spotted him filming in Docklands at the weekend, backed up by a hugely supportive crew. I don’t know what song it was for but I can reveal the backdrop will be the 02 Arena at dusk.
• It’s only got a capacity of 750 yet Superbands U2, The Killers, Kasabian and Coldplay have all played there. Islington’s Union Chapel
has been nominated for Smooth FM’s best live music venue. Radio 1 DJ Jo Wylie chose it as the venue for the celebrated Little Noise Sessions because it’s her favourite venue. Vote for it at www.unionchapel.org.uk
