North Camden Chorus still on the rise
PREVIEW: NORTH CAMDEN CHORUS AND ORCHESTRA - CARMINA BURANA All Hallows Church
THE North Camden have been making waves of late. Their number has swelled in the past six months or so and, as their hugely enjoyable Christmas concert showed, they’re enjoying the extra oomph of their new-found firepower, and conductor Ian Gibson looks to be having a fine time directing his new charges. Next up for the chorus is a performance of Orff’s Carmina Burana, a rousing work of drink, lust and Latin.
You’d have to be long-dead for this marvellous work to not raise at least a few hairs on the back of your neck, so if you want a musical pick-me-up and a glimpse at an ensemble in the ascendancy, take yourself along to All Hallows Church, in Savernake Road, this Sunday at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7 on the door (£5 concessions) and there will be refreshments provided afterwards. www.ncchorus.org.uk
