THE Terracotta Film Festival, showcasing from tonight (Thursday) and running through the weekend at the Prince Charles Theatre, brings together the very best in contemporary Far East movies.
Kicking off with An Eye for an Eye, directed by Kwon-tae Ahn, it tells the story of a cat and mouse chase between ageing detective Captain Baek (Han Suk-kyu) and a criminal mastermind who has used the detective’s name during his heists.
Baek decides to put the gardening on hold when he discovers his nemesis is behind a plot to smuggle a consignment of gold into Korea.
Among the other films worth catching is the well-titled Zombies From Banana Village. It’s a hoot of an undead flick, featuring a remote settlement where things are just bound to go bump in the night.
