HERE is a heads-up: Terry Gilliam, the Highgate-based film director and former Python, will be telling all about his latest offering The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus in the first week of October. It was Heath Ledger’s last film and it is a miracle of technology that it was completed after his untimely death.
*
Hear it’s a tale of morals, set in London but with a number of different realities going on at the same time – as those who know Time Bandits and Brazil will testify, this type of idea is pure Gilliam.
Christopher Plummer plays the good doctor, a travelling magician who trades immortality for the hand of his daughter when she turns 16.
After Ledger’s death, his friends Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell chipped in to help finish this project. I can’t wait to see how it looks.
