Man in court over shooting
A SHOOTING in a popular West End nightspot led to the brief Old Bailey appearance of an accused man.
Victim Michael Henry suffered a stomach wound when he was hit by a small calibre bullet fired from a ‘ladies’ pistol – a deadly weapon resembling a key ring.
The attack on him on October 15 last year was at the Astor Bar and Grill in Piccadilly.
Police arrested suspect Muziwakhe Skosana the following month at an address in Cricklewood.
The 23-year-old South African is due to face a jury trial on July 2.
Judge Ann Goddard QC remanded him in prison custody until then.
Skosana denied charges of attempting to murder or wound Mr Henry, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, and unlawful possession of a pistol and ammunition.
