Soho set for a ball
THE Soho Ball celebrates its tenth anniversary at the Millennium Mayfair hotel on May 18.
More than 300 guests will enjoy the champagne reception and three-course dinner. Attractions include a casino, cabaret, dancing and a star compère with a fund-raising auction of top memorabilia. Best-selling crime author Martina Cole will be auctioning a unique prize – the opportunity to feature as one of the characters in her next book.
Guests will also receive a copy of her current novel, Close, which will be published in paperback on May 3.
The prize draw and auction offers a raft of unique prizes including signed Franco Zeffirelli prints, racing helmet signed by BBC Tope Gear’s “The Stig”, signed Chelsea FC 2007 pennant and an opportunity to win a dinner party cooked in your own home by Richard Tewnion, sous-chef at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen‚ restaurant in Islington. Soho Parish School has raised almost £1 million required to acquire and refurbish its building. An additional £100,000 is required to construct a walkway between the two buildings.
