It's all gone tea potty in trafalgar square
TEA-LOVERS got to see just how many cuppas they drink in a lifetime when Trafalgar Square was filled with the brew for a new TV programme.
The Human Footprint, which aired last night (Thursday) on Channel 4, looks at the amount of resources that human beings consume in their life. Assuming the average person drinks three cups of tea a day, researchers estimate they would drink 74,806 cups in their lives.
Forty staff from the science programme worked through the night to set up the cups, each full of real tea and milk, for an aerial shot on Wednesday morning.
They then had to empty, wash and pack away every single mug – unlike the average tea drinker.
