Loss of trust in Trust
• I CAN both empathise and sympathise with the Peabody tenant in Victoria, as we also have a football cage problem (No peace for the Peabody, April 27).
Peabody Trust saw fit to erect these cages without any consultation with the bulk of their tenants.
More chaos has been created by extending the ‘play areas’ supposedly for the use of tenants and their ‘children’. These have been taken over by teenagers late at night for drinking and other anti-social activities.
This and joy-riding has been a feature of life on the Dalgarno estate for many years. Contacting the police, as we are frequently told to do, is a waste of time.
We have no caretakers to lock up the football cage so it is open to abuse night and day.
Since our estate office closed the matter has worsened. I have even referred the matter to the Ombudsman who in reality did not become involved.
Peabody have simply washed their hands of the problem. I WALKER
