Robinson paintings
• WE are pleased the hospital has decided to postpone the disposal of the Cayley Robinson paintings but shocked that they remain committed to selling them off. This is at variance with a commitment made by Peter Dixon, chair of the Trust, who, in a letter to our association (June 18, 2003), said: “I know that there has been interest in these pictures from a number of sources and while we would certainly not consider permanent disposal, it may be that their display and availability could be enhanced in an alternative context.”
It is clearly not too late to honour this undertaking and keep the paintings in the community where they belong. MAX NEUFELD
Chairman of Charlotte Street Association
